Yin Yoga is the complementary practice for anyone who wishes to counterbalance their go-go-go, active lifestyle or undertakes sweaty cardio or strength-building styles of Sport (aka yang excess). Slower paced yet still challenging, and thought of as an entryway into longer meditations. Attune to your unique anatomy and your places of tension and holding patterns all while strengthening your capacity to listen and allow and to discern between the Yin and the Yang in all aspects of your life.
Pairing Yin poses specifically with Yoga Nidra is intentional. The slower-paced Asana practice encourages a more potent YN journey and can be thought of as the energetic prep work for the most important pose of all: Savasana, Corpse Pose.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The lessons and insights received through the slower meditative & restorative practices on the mat become transferable for the real world experiences that await us beyond the walls of the practice space. With practice, we learn to see, accept, and allow rather than resist, judge, and force. There is much freedom in this.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yin with Yoga Nidra is your time to first feel and then be—give yourself permission for both.
30 min of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to ~2 hours of restful sleep—a healthy boost for the immune system, a restoration for the nervous system, a rebalancing of the endocrine system. Suitable for all levels.
