Yin Yoga with Soundbath in the High Desert

  • Tumbleweed Sanctuary, Garden & Labyrinth 57889 Pueblo Trail Yucca Valley, CA 92284 USA (map)

join Vincent Accardi of Full Moon Ceremonies and myself as we blend two healing practices—the rejuvenating & restorative practice of yin yoga with live sound.

yin yoga can be thought of as series of mini meditations—long-held seated poses (from 2–6 minutes) that aim to stress the connective tissues of our bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and fascia. through consciously relaxing the muscles, these applied stresses can go deeper to stimulate Qi (energy) that otherwise remains blocked or stuck in the body. as we come out of the poses slowly, we allow ourselves to feel how this energy moves through us. with regular practice we can learn how to release into the places of tension and give our emotional body the support it needs to heal. this newly unblocked energy can then move more freely throughout the body, healing our tissues and organs along the way. beyond the more obvious physical experience, there are emotional and mental aspect to this practice of stillness as well.

with the accompaniment of crystal bowls, flutes, drums, and acoustic guitar, we are naturally drawn into a deeper state of relaxation. expect to endure times of elevated tension (physically, mentally, aurally) but always counterbalanced with a sweet, sweet release.

to close out the evening, we’ll go through a guided Yoga Nidra-style body scan to aid our bodies and hearts into a state of receptivity, setting us up for the healing potential of sound as Vincent plays an extended Soundbath Savasana for us.

blankets, blocks, and lavender eye pillows will be provided. please bring your yoga mat and wear comfortable, loose clothing. layers are encouraged!
