Foundations of Yin Yoga Workshop
for beginners & beginner-minded practitioners
with Ines Girau and Katherine Hypes
Saturday, March 16th
17:00–19:00
This workshop is the first of a series and appropriate for all-levels — for those who are new to the practice or long-time practitioners who are curious to learn more about why we do what we do in Yin Yoga. we’ll briefly cover the following topics as we move through an extended Asana practice:
history of modern yin yoga
yin yoga vs. yang yoga
principles of practicing
connective tissues
meridians / energetics
skeletal variation
Yin yoga is a practice of stillness. With the use of supportive props, we hold poses for 2–6 min at a time, depending on the pose and the individual. Through physical stillness we can become more aware of our physical body and more sensitive to its energy, as well as our emotional and mental states.
Your Teachers: Ines and Katherine are yin yoga teachers based in Berlin and students of Bernie Clark and Paul & Suzee Grilley. They come with a combined passion for sharing the healing benefits of the practice with others.
